Conversion Bridge Posts for 2017 and later Gibson Guitars with ABR-1 Bridges
In 2017, Gibson started installing the ABR-1 bridge on the Les Paul Traditional model, and some, but not all, LP Standards and Classics between 2017-2019. This was a departure for a Gibson USA model guitar, because the ABR-1 was never before installed on anything but vintage Gibsons, Historic/Custom Shop models, and, from 1990 to 2003, on the Les Paul Classic. However, instead of using the original style Direct Mounted Bridge Posts, these new guitars with ABR-1 use “Nashville” style bushing mounted bridge posts. The descriptive images show the differences.
For the 2020 model year (began in late 2019), several models from “The Original Collection” use this system: all LP Standards, the SG and ES models. Simply put, if you have a NON CUSTOM SHOP guitar with an ABR-1 bridge, these USA/ABR-1 Conversion Posts are correct for your guitar.
Faber®, once again, leads the way with special conversion posts, allowing you to use the Faber® Tone-Lock bridge, the advanced Faber® ABRH “no wire” bridge, or your original ABR-1. See below for details.
"EZ" USA/ABR-1 Conversion Posts
Our “EZ” to install ABR-1 conversion posts – replaces existing bridge posts without modification! These superior posts are threaded, unlike the unthreaded upper portion of the original posts. The threading allows the installation of the Faber® Tone-Lock™ bridge. These posts also allow the installation of the advanced “no wire” Faber® ABRH bridge, or you can use your original Gibson ABR-1 bridge. Install a pair during your next string change. Simply unscrew the old posts and replace with our Faber® “EZ” USA/ABR-1 Conversion Posts.
"PLUS" USA/ABR-1 Conversion Posts
Our “PLUS” USA/ABR-1 conversion posts replace the original “sloppy” bridge bushings and integrated posts. The Faber® German BELL BRASS one piece bushing/post, with separate thumb wheels like the original ABR-1 system, will enhance the tone, sustain and resonance of your guitar!
